PDP, ASCSN, LAWYERS KNOCK BUHARI FOR RECALLING NHIS BOSS ..WHY BUHARI REINSTATED YUSUF – FG SOURCE

Usman-Yusuf

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria has said the reinstatement of the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Usman Yusuf, by President Muhammadu Buhari, is “another dent on the anti-corruption war.” Also, the Peoples Democratic Party has described Yusuf’s reinstatement while he was still being quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for alleged N919m fraud as shocking, and a mockery of justice.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Mike Ozekhome, and a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, said the decision came at a time when the dust surrounding the smuggling of a former Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulraheed Maina, back into the public service was just settling down. The PDP also mocked the Federal Government for the cover up of the cabinet minister who reportedly bought a property worth N280m in Abuja from alleged corrupt enrichment.

The ASCSN in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Secretary-General, Alade Lawal, said the action of the President was capable of being interpreted to mean that the government’s anti-graft crusade was “selective and designed to deal with specific targets.”
