Sokoto Attack: Buhari vows to stop ‘Barbarians and Criminals’ from holding Nigeria hostage

Buhari (21)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday condemned an attack by bandits on a village in Sokoto State and vowed to spare no effort in stopping killings in the country. The President also promised to ensure the bandits who killed several people, including a district head, in Gandi, a village in Rabah Local Government Area the state will be arrested.

“This administration will not allow any group of barbarians and criminals hold the country hostage and destroy life without consequences,” President Buhari was quoted as saying in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. “This wanton violence against innocent people won’t be tolerated by this government, and we are working round the clock to identify the people sponsoring these heartless attacks.”

The Federal Government has come under criticism over the attacks that have been launched on many parts of the country this year with many Nigerians losing their lives in the process. President Buhari, however, insists his government has prioritized the killings.
