Contrary to impressions that the European Union is placing a blanket ban on some agricultural products from Nigeria, the Senate is revealing that the European Union is only suspending these products for lack of compliance to the unions import regulations. Contributing members are arguing that Nigerian farmers must begin adhere strictly to rules of export as agriculture is a veritable way of generating revenue for the country.
Agriculture no doubt is one of Nigeria’s best avenue to diversify its economy, but recently rumour have been making the rounds that the European Union is banning agricultural products entering the E.U. This prompted the senate to carry out its own investigation through its committee for agriculture which has been finding out something different.
