House of Representative is bent on stopping the spate of senseless killings in the country and has commenced moves to stop the illegal acquisition of firearms by unauthorized persons. Members are unanimous in their submissions that the spate of killings and murders are becoming one too many for the nation to ignore.
Olusegun Dokun from Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency of Oyo State raised the motion at plenary when he stated in his submission that the inability of the country to make laws that prohibits the illegal acquisition of firearms by individuals has accounted for most crimes and killings across the country.
