Politicians and all participants in an election must embrace attitudinal change for the nation’s democracy to continue to grow. The Independent National Electoral commission says it will not leave any stone unturned in its bid to continually improve on the nation’s electoral process. This obviously happy people are celebrating as the Independent National Electoral Commission hands over the certificate of return to winners in the recently concluded FCT local council elections.
In her speech at the occasion, Supervisory National Commissioner of INEC for the North Central Zone says the level of violence and malfeasance in the election is unacceptable. She says the commission will not relent in its efforts to take the nation’s electoral process to the next level. For their part some of the newly elected chairmen say the certificate of return will spur them to ensure that they truly deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the grassroots.
